Knowingly, or unknowingly using poor quality, imitation or counterfeit products whose labels may be misrepresenting the actual contents in the package can lead to below-standard system performance, equipment damage, and safety concerns.
The Chemours Company actively protects its intellectual property pertaining to all Opteon™ products through industry standard patent and brand enforcement and anti-counterfeiting efforts.
The Global Chemours Brand Assurance Anti-Counterfeiting Program includes detailed practices that customers of Opteon™ products across the value chain should follow. Examples include proper use of our brands, notification of fraudulent products, and a number of physical safeguards on refrigerant products.
Assurance Best Practices for Refrigerants
To SAFEguard against counterfeit products:
- Select: Choose a reputable Chemours refrigerants distributor for all purchases.
- Ask: Don’t leave it to chance. Ask for a genuine Chemours refrigerant.
- Find: Check the valve to ensure a Chemours branded shrink sleeve is present. All disposable and reusable cylinders include this security mechanism.
- Ensure: Confirm your package and shrink sleeve have not been tampered with and show no signs of damage, rework, or irregular labeling.
